NEI is a improved version of TMI except with many additional features. Note: Please use recipe mode in the options menu. An attempt to use cheat mode will say you don't have permission.

Crafting Recipes

The main thing you probably would be using is the Recipes feature. Just simply mouse over an item and hit R, BAM, you have a recipe. However, some mod recipes don't really work. Basically, if it's in a crafting table, NEI knows it. However, there are some exceptions.

If you use "u" over an item, it will tell you all the things that the item is used to craft.

Red Power 2

Red Power 2 has a special addon for NEI that adds alloy furnace recipes. This addon is automatically installed with Tekkit.

You can also search for items within NEI. Just simply click on the box on the bottom of your screen and type the item you want. Note: Ive noticed on smaller displays, the search bay doesn't appear. Try changing your GUI scale to small. Make sure to CLICK OUT out the search box before pressing R to see a recipe.

For Staff

To facilitate the reimbursement process, you can use NEI. However you have to make the following adjustments to your NEI.cfg:

#Change these options if you have a different mod installed on the server that handles the commands differently, Eg. Bukkit Essentials
	#{0} = player, {1} = 1 for creative, 0 for survival
	creative=/gamemode {0} {1}
	#{0} = player, {1} = itemID, {2} = quantity, {3} = itemDamage
	give=/give {0} {1} {2} {3}
	#The vanilla server doesn't have a heal command, however others may
	#{0} = player
	#{0} = 1 for on, 0 for off
	#{0} = worldtime
	time=/time set {0}

You can find the config in the AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\config folder.
